BEE AWARE, BEE INVOLVED, BEE KIND

Bee Aware, Bee Involved, Bee Kind is the 2023-2025 DFGC President's Project.  More information coming soon.

PLANT AMERICA

This project of National Garden Clubs, Inc. is a call to service and a description of what NGC members do. Plant America supports the primary reason that members give for joining a garden club - to learn about gardening! The Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. has embraced this NGC project in our own backyard in communities throughout Delaware. PLANT AMERICA

TREE-mendous Delaware Tree Planting at Delaware Botanic Gardens​

The Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek will be a world-class, inspirational, educational, and sustainable public botanic garden in Sussex County, Delaware. Delaware garden clubs are helping to bring this project to life through a fundraising drive for planting flowering trees in the Woodland Garden and other areas of the Delaware Botanic Gardens.  DONOR FORM.

DFGC Membership Growth

Expanding membership in Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs will ​create more opportunities for current and new members alike, as the wealth of experiences, knowledge, and ideas continues to grow and influence everything we do. Memorial Garden for Families of the Fallen

Dover Air Force Base is the U.S. destination for fallen service members returning home to their grieving families. Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs sponsored the design and construction of a memorial garden at Fisher House, where family members stay when they come to await the arrival of their fallen family member. LEARN MORE

Blue Star and Gold Star Families Memorial Markers

Blue Star and Gold Star markers honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces, a custom that dates back decades to the 1940's. There are now eight Blue Star Memorial markers in Delaware, including one at the Memorial Garden for Families of the Fallen. The most recent Delaware Blue Star Byway Marker was installed at Fenwick Island Town Hall in Fenwick Island, Delaware. LEARN MORE

DFGC College Scholarships

Mark Meloni, a senior at University of Delaware, was the recipient of scholarships from both DFGC and NGC in 2017 and 2018. Mark is working towards a degree in Environmental Studies, concentrating in Environmental Advocacy and minoring in Coastal and Marine Geo-Science. He expects to graduate in the Fall of 2019. LEARN MORE

NGC and Regional Projects

As NGC members, Delaware garden clubs benefit from the outstanding resources, knowledge and experience of like-minded individuals across the U.S. and several foreign nations. Each club chooses projects that address needs in their own local area, but a blueprint for addressing those needs can be found among NGC projects that are listed on their website. LEARN MORE
